 Not as good as the bagged stuff.Jan 23, 2010
I have used only one of these cartridges, but it kept shutting down the humidifier. When I called the help line (1-800-336-0326) the nice lady insisted that I try to remove a few tablespoons of the granules and try it again. This made the unit run longer between stops, so I removed almost half of the granules, but it still stopped. This updated product seems to be self-clogging. I put the old style refill granules in the cartridge and now it works fine again.
Hint to refill: put a paper towel in the center opening of the cartridge and pour the granules in around it. When they get to the top just tap the cartridge up and down to settle the granules. Then remove the paper towel.

Maybe I should try my Air-o-Swiss 7135 without the cartridge, because I still get plenty of dust. I'd like to see how much I get *without* the filter.
For me it was no problem using the refill packs as opposed to the new cartridge. Just dump out the old and dump in the new with the extra parts included. Definitely worth the savings.

Item works well. I've had this unit for 2 yrs now.De-mineralization cartridge ensures a hygienic, pure water mist, without lime scale or mineral residues (no white dust).

I am extremely happy with the Air-O-Swiss humidifer. It is easy to clean, humidifies well and the water demineralization filter is a big plus. I've seen no signs of white mineral dust I have seen with other humidifiers. I haven't used it for it's projected 3 month life span yet, but so far so good after 3 weeks.

This product really does make it easier to get the crud off of the unit. It kind of dissolves with the boiling water.
