 Black and Decker Grip PegsJul 14, 2010
I have owned a Black and Decker Workmate for years and over time one of the pegs got lost. I purchased these pegs as a replacement. I find these a little better than the originals because the gripping area is slightly larger and I feel this gives me a little better control when applying clamping pressure.

I just ordered 2, 4-packs of the Grip Pegs (I waited until they came back around to
Amazon and got them with no shipping [plus one other item to bring the order up to
the no shipping minimum]).
I have a Workmate, that I bought my Dad in the late 1970's (Labeled: 79-003 Type 2,
Single Height). Personally I used to "tune" my own skis on it!
The bench got passed around for many years and I finally ended up with it, again,
but minus the pegs.
From reading the comments here about the pegs not fitting, I was worried, but...PERFECT FIT. So
I am one VERY happy customer!
Now I just need to take on some projects to use the darned thing. ;-)

I aquired an older used workmate and find this price for replacement pegs excessive!!. They drive people to throw away still usable gear and just buy new. Lame business practices in todays society that condones just throwing itmes away because it makes more sense to put that money into a new product. No wonder our economy is stuck.. It is geared to people throwing away and buying new.

These little peg grips are what they are. They are peg grips for a Black and Decker Workmate. I was given my workmate by my father in-law and it did not have all four peg grips. These came quickly and I did not need to trim or sand to get them to fit. Now that I have all four peg grips, the workmate is a lot more versatile. For a little more the $6, pick up a pack.

Update! I put each upside down in a vise, folded a piece of sandpaper along its length to make a belt of two sided sandpaper about 1" wide. I then see-sawed the sandpaper back and forth evenly around all sides of the peg and test fitted until it fits fine now. Certainly not "fits all" out of the package but it was not difficult to make it fit without ruining the round shape. I updated my rating to 3 stars.

Just received this product. Package says it fits ALL B&D Workmates. NOT SO, it is about 1/32 larger than the holes in my workmate. The pegs that came with the workmate fit loosely, these don't even go into the holes. Not sure if it is worth sending them back or try to modify them to work. Don't recommend them.
